چکیده
Abstract Background Knee osteoarthritis (OA) occurs frequently in females. So far, no study has evaluated postoperative outcome measures females based on body height. We aimed to evaluate pain relief and Injury Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) at 6 months women following total knee arthroplasty (TKA). In this prospective, observational pilot study, 20 women, 50–70 years, American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) physical status I II, undergoing TKA surgery were enrolled. The patients allocated Group ( n = 10), with a height less than 153 cm, II greater cm. All received paracetamol, diclofenac, epidural analgesia postoperatively for up 72 h. primary was comparison KOOS scores from preoperative baseline value TKA. Results demographics, KOOS, waist-hip ratio, range motion similar. mean ± standard deviation (SD) (range) 149.85 3.28 (142.5–152.5) cm versus 157.25 2.99 (155–165) p 0.001. score improved both Groups as compared the respective baseline. At months, 96.50 3.14 [94.26–98.74 (89–100)] 89.40 6.45 [84.79–94.01 (81–100)] 0.02. Conclusions Postoperative superior short stature normal surgery.

Functional Outcome Study in Total Knee Arthroplasty
Objective: The aim of this study was to validate the well-recognized outcome measure instruments (Medical Outcome Study Short Form-SF-36, Western Ontario and McMaster University Osteoarthritis Index-WOMAC, McMaster Toronto Arthritis Patient Preference Disability Questionnaire-MACTAR) for patients who had undergone total knee arthroplasty in Iran, with its cultural and ethnic differences and com...
متن کاملDoes patient perception of alignment affect total knee arthroplasty outcome?
OBJECTIVE This study was designed to address a recurring observation in our centre that, despite a satisfactory postoperative radiographic limb alignment, some patients are dissatisfied with the alignment and appearance of their operated leg. We carried out a prospective survey to determine patient perception of limb alignment after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) and whether level of satisfactio...

The Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) was developed as an extension of the WOMAC Osteoarthritis Index with the purpose of evaluating short-term and long-term symptoms and function in subjects with knee injury and osteoarthritis. The KOOS holds five separately scored subscales: Pain, other Symptoms, Function in daily living (ADL), Function in Sport and Recreation (Sport/Rec), a...
متن کاملPatient Satisfaction Following Total Knee Arthroplasty: Comparison of Short-Term Results in Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis
Background: Due to the obvious differences in the natural course of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA),different functional outcomes might be expected after Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) in these distinct patients. Althoughseveral studies have reported the objective outcome of TKA in RA and OA patients, few studies have compared postoperativepatient-satisfaction levels. Methods: I...
